If you had Toncoin and your wallet now says Gram, don’t worry — it’s the same coin. On June 15, 2026, it was officially renamed, and the ticker changed from TON to GRAM.
What changed and what didn’t
- The coin is now called Gram, ticker GRAM.
- The blockchain itself is still called TON — The Open Network.
- There’s nothing to swap, “migrate” or “claim”. Your coins are still at the same addresses.
The decision was made by a vote, with over 80% in favor. And the name Gram was in the project’s very first description, so it’s more of a return to its roots.
Where Telegram comes in
TON and Gram are closely tied to Telegram:
- Gram is used to buy Stars on Fragment, as well as usernames and numbers;
- NFT gifts are traded for Gram;
- creators withdraw earned Stars in Gram too;
- Telegram has its own wallet, Gram Wallet, and for trading there’s Walt.
Where to keep Gram
- In Gram Wallet or another TON wallet where you hold the keys (for example, Tonkeeper).
- On an exchange or in Walt — convenient for buying and selling, but the service holds the keys.
How to choose is covered in the article about hot and cold wallets.
Beware of “migration”
After the rename, lots of sites popped up offering to “swap TON for GRAM” or “claim your GRAM”. These are scams: no swap is needed. If a site asks you to connect your wallet or enter your seed phrase for a “migration”, just close it.
