Putting money into Walt (formerly Telegram Wallet) is easy, but taking it out raises a lot of questions. There are four ways: to a bank card, via P2P, to an exchange or your own wallet, and to a friend on Telegram. Here’s each one: what it costs, how long it takes and where it’s easy to slip up.
All numbers below come from Walt’s official help center as of October 2026. Fees can change, so always check the fee screen in the app before you withdraw.
Which method to pick
| Method | Fee | Speed | What you need |
|---|---|---|---|
| To a card | 3.5% + network fee | minutes to 3 days | a USD or EUR card in your name, verification |
| P2P Market | no service fee when you respond to someone’s ad | depends on the buyer | verification |
| To an exchange or wallet | fixed, from 0.05 GRAM | after review, up to 12 hours | address and comment (memo) |
| To a friend on Telegram | free | instant | a friend on Telegram |
In short: need local currency on your card — look at P2P. Want to move dollars to an exchange — USDT on TON. Sending to people you know — free inside Telegram.
Withdrawing to a bank card
This is a crypto sale through an outside payment provider (Mercuryo): you send crypto, money lands on your card.
- In the main menu, tap Withdraw → Bank Card.
- Pick the coin and amount.
- Pick the currency: USD or EUR, there are no others.
- Tap Sell and confirm your email with the code you receive.
- If the provider asks, verify your identity — Walt says this takes up to 5 minutes.
- Enter your card number. The card must be in your name.
- Confirm the transfer in Walt.
Money usually arrives within minutes, but some banks take up to 3 days. If the bank rejects the payment, the crypto goes back to Walt, usually in 5–10 minutes, sometimes up to 2 hours.
What it costs: the provider takes 3.5%, plus Walt charges a transfer fee. And if your card isn’t in dollars or euros, your bank converts the money at its own rate and may charge for that too. For cards in other currencies, this often works out expensive.
This method isn’t available in every country: it depends on the provider’s rules. The only way to check is in the app itself.
Withdrawing via P2P Market
Here you sell crypto to another person, and they send money to your card. The upside is you can get paid in your local currency, not just dollars.
- Tap Withdraw → P2P Market → Sell.
- Pick a buyer’s ad, enter the amount and your payment details, and confirm the order.
- Wait for the buyer to accept the order and send the money.
- Check that the money has arrived, and only then tap Confirm Receipt of Funds. The crypto is then sent to the buyer automatically.
Good to know:
- On P2P, only the person who posted the ad pays a fee. If you respond to someone else’s ad, the service charges you nothing.
- You need to verify your identity, and your payment details must be in your name — the same name as in Walt.
- Only sellers with Merchant status can post their own sell ads.
The one rule of P2P: confirm receipt only once the money has actually reached your account. Check your banking app, not a screenshot from the buyer: fake screenshots are more common than you’d think. Also compare the sender’s name with the buyer’s name in the order. If it doesn’t match, don’t confirm anything — tap I have a problem → Names Don’t Match. And don’t move the chat to private messages: all communication and disputes stay inside the trade.
Prices on P2P are set by buyers and sellers themselves, so compare a few ads before you sell.
Withdrawing to an exchange or your own wallet
If you want to sell on an exchange or hold crypto yourself, withdraw to an external address.
- In the main menu, tap Withdraw → External wallet or exchange.
- Pick the coin.
- Paste the address. For TON-network coins you can also use a .ton or .t.me domain.
- If you’re sending to an exchange, always add the comment (memo/tag) from your exchange account. Without it, the exchange may not know whose transfer it is.
- Check the network and confirm.
The fee here is fixed and doesn’t depend on the amount. The ones you’ll need most:
| What you withdraw | Fee |
|---|---|
| USDT on TON | 1 USDT |
| USDT on TRON (TRC-20) | 3.5 USDT |
| USDT on Solana and BNB Chain | $1.5 |
| USDT on Ethereum | $4 |
| GRAM (formerly Toncoin) | 0.05 GRAM |
| BTC | 0.00008 BTC, can be higher when the network is busy |
I’ve withdrawn USDT on TON to an exchange myself: for dollars it’s the cheapest option. Just make sure first that your exchange accepts USDT on the TON network: when depositing on the exchange, pick USDT and look at the list of networks. If TON isn’t there, use TRC-20 — it costs more, but it works. If the address and network don’t match, you can lose the money.
Since the fee doesn’t depend on the amount, withdrawing in small chunks doesn’t pay off: you pay the same $1–4 every time. The minimum for USDT is 1 USDT, for GRAM it’s 0.1 GRAM.
If you’ve never sent crypto before, send a small amount first and check that it arrived. More on avoiding scams in our guide to crypto wallet safety.
Sending to a friend on Telegram
The easiest way if the money is for someone you know:
- Tap Transfer, pick the coin and amount.
- Tap Choose recipient → Share with and pick a contact.
- Your friend gets a message and taps Claim.
It’s free. If your friend doesn’t claim it within 7 days, the money comes back to you. You can cancel the transfer until it’s claimed. In a group chat, the first person to tap the button gets the money, so it’s better to send it in a private chat.
Why your withdrawal hasn’t arrived
Usually it’s nothing serious: Walt reviews withdrawals, and a transfer can sit in Pending for up to 12 hours. After review, transfers on TON and TRON arrive right away, BTC usually within a few minutes, and on Ethereum and Solana it depends on network load.
If the status is already Success but the money isn’t on the exchange, check whether you added the memo. Without it, the transfer often arrives but the exchange can’t credit it to your account — contact the exchange’s support and include the transaction hash.
For any questions, contact only the official Walt support inside the app. Real support never messages you first.
In short
If you’re taking part in the Walt $8000 promo or just keep money there, you can withdraw at any time. For dollars, USDT on TON to an exchange is cheapest; for local currency, P2P is usually easier. And if you’re not sure how Walt differs from Gram Wallet, start with what Walt is.
